His Ways are not Ours

When you were a child it probably did not make sense to you when your parents didn’t let you do what you pleased all the time. It may have even seemed unfair or perhaps even nonsensical to you. In hindsight as an adult you can look back on those times and see that your parents had their reasons that at the time you were not able to understand, due to a lack of perspective and understanding.

Often times in life God allows things that don’t make sense to us at all. Cancer, war and famine doesn’t seem very loving and just from our perspective. However, God is looking at things from the lens of eternity and His kingdom. Our world is so sad and broken that oftentimes the things that seem so horrific to us might actually be mercy in disguise. Now this does not mean that God is allowing horrible things like kidnapping to happen and saying you’re welcome. But what I mean is the bad thing is the best outcome for you to find God. God isn’t causing the bad. We caused the bad in Eden, but He is using the bad for our good. The bad things in life will happen no matter what. But God takes these things and makes them turn out for our good, in Him, if we will allow Him.

All of our lives are playing into a huge tapestry that makes up God’s purpose. We cannot see until we meet Jesus what kind of role we played until the big picture is revealed to us. Our tiny thread and its’ twists and turns don’t make sense to us now but when God’s kingdom is revealed then we will see the grander design that was at work in our lives.

““For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
